"Pigeon Art" is the idea of Steve Longhurst - a self-trained artist with a passion for painting.

From boyhood, Steve has loved art and has dabbled in a variety of styles and materials, enjoying the challenge of capturing fragments of life on a variety of media.

Steve particularly enjoys animal portraiture but his keen eye for detail allows him to capture almost any scene, real or imaginary, with vivid detail, bold colours and a strong sense of character.

With custom sign art, strong water-colour commissions and pencil illustrations now being reproduced as prints, Steve's varied pieces enhance the homes of many friends, family and colleagues. He has also undertaken for them portraits of houses, cars and gardens - both in colour or black and white. Some of Steve's work has been also been reproduced as T-shirts and decorative place mats.

At the suggestion of his father, a long standing pigeon fancier, Steve is now bringing his artwork to a wider group of appreciative fliers. Much to his father's delight, the website has helped form many new and international friendships for both of them.
